Chef Robert

Robert Didier, chef and owner. Born in a town a few miles from Avignon in Provence, Robert Didier began his culinary apprenticeship at the age of 13. After completing his training in southeastern France at a number of notable restaurants, including the renowned Baumanière in les Baux-de-Provence, Robert took up a position at Gleneagles Hotel in Scotland. He eventually moved to England ending up in Oxford, where he became Head Chef at Trinity College. In his 14 years at Trinity, Robert was responsible for meals for the 300 students at the College as well as for banquets for distinguished guests, including members of the British royal family. Not long after moving to the Boston area, Robert found the ideal location to open up La Provence and has been delighting customers ever since.
